About Us
International Church is a church of many nations, many cultures, many ways of thinking, doing and being Christian. We have one thing in common: a desire to follow Jesus. As a result we choose to worship together, learn together, and serve together.
Our church family includes Thai nationals and a significant representation from other Asian countries as well as the Americas, Europe and Africa. We come from every imaginable Christian denomination. The membership consists of both long term and short term residents. Experienced Christians, new believers and people who are simply interested in learning more about Jesus Christ and Christianity all find a home here. We are an eclectic mix.
We don’t own a building or any property. Athough it has been discussed from time to time, Intl Church has strategically chosen to focus our resources in other areas. Some have described us as “Missional” and occasionally the term “Emerging” gets thrown around.
We are a congregation of the Church of Christ in Thailand. This is consistent with our desire to work in cooperation and fellowship with local churches throughout Thailand.
International Church was established in 1932. We are a totally independent and self-supporting congregation. And we give almost 20% of our annual income (922,000 baht in 2009) away in gifts to other ministries within Thailand.
Intl Church doesn’t subscribe to any particular creed. We don’t make you sign a particular statement of faith to join our community. Official Members affirm that in Jesus they have found both a Lord (guide for life) and a Savior (saves us from sin and death). We find a lot of joy in diversity. The vast majority of our membership would affirm the ancient Christian creeds. The Nicene Creed and Apostle’s Creed being the two most important examples.
We’ve been called a church where…
* Mature Christians come and grow in their faith and service.
* Less mature Christians come and grow and/or (re)discover their faith while serving.
* Non-Christians can come and learn about Jesus without fear of being condescended to, condemned or embarrassed.
We are very proud of this atmosphere and we hope you’ll join us as we continue to grow, learn, serve and worship God.
