Welcome to Bangkok and to Thailand
We'd like you to enjoy Bangkok while you are visiting with us, or if you plan to move here. Below are a few links to help you know more about our city and the country we call our permanent or temporary home.
- Bangkok Guide (www.bangkokguideonline.com/pages/about_book.html) is the definitive source of information for newcomers to Thailand. Produced by the Australia-New Zealand Women's Association, it includes useful and up-to-date information on topics ranging from settling in to education and health services to shopping - and of course places of worship listed in Chapter 4: General Services.
- Thai-Info.net is a fast, informative site with information about everything from visas to postal rates. It is also regularly maintained, so you can be relatively certain the information is up-to-date. The site also lists churches like ours.
- The fishwrapper (www.fishwrapper.net) is the website of the Fucella family, who are supported by the Church of Scotland in their work with Karen refugee communities on the Thai-Burmese border. There are links to Thai Christian communities they serve and have served plus information about the political and humanitarian situation on the border.
- Read the Bangkok Post on line (www.bangkokpost.com) for latest news about Thai political, social, business and cultural life.
- Bangkok Maps.com is a fast site with clear maps of various areas of the city with hotels and places of interest noted.
- The Lonely Planet Guide to Thailand (http://www.lonelyplanet.com/destinations/south_east_asia/thailand) is, of course, must reading for all travellers and potential residents to Thailand.
- Asia XPAT Business Directory (http://bangkok.asiaxpat.com) links feature information for those planning a move to Bangkok. There is relocation information plus employment tips and information on a range of topics to help you settle in Bangkok.
- Thailand links and information (http://www.geocities.com/ckoeni/thailand/index.html) is part of the web site of a photographer and traveller by the name of Clayton Kaenig. He's spent a lot of time in Thailand and his site provides links to tourist, business, education, health, entertainment and of course, church links.
