Visitors and members comment that worship at ICB
is welcoming and stimulating
We enjoy variety in our worship at ICB reflecting the diversity of places and traditions our members and friends come from..
SUNDAY MORNING'S are more traditional. We sing hymns (mostly) have a choir and have small pieces of traditional liturgy sprinkled into the service. One member described it as "reverent and casual". Each Sunday morning, we light a Peace Candle and focus our opening prayer on a region or country of the world. We follow a schedule followed by churches all over the world. Our candle came to us from the home church of an ICB member family. In turn, members send candles and of the story of the Peace Candle to congregations around the world.
Members regularly participate as worship leaders.
Special services throughout the Christian year - through Advent and Christmas, Holy Week, Good Friday and Easter are particularly meaningful. Music is an important part of worship at ICB.
ICB choir practices at 8:45 Sunday mornings in preparation for anthems and to lead hymn singing. The choir is small and flexible. We all love to sing and welcome new singers.
Communion is celebrated monthly on the first Sunday; all are invited to partake. Infant and adult baptism is celebrated within the church family gathered for worship and children are welcome in worship. There are classes for children of all ages from infants and toddlers to high school during part of the worship time.
Our EVENING WORSHIP is more contemporary. We sing new songs, praise and worship, a hymn now and then and we write our own music.
