Pastor Chee introduces this week’s theme:
The text for the gospel takes us to a conversation between and a Samaritan woman at a well. On the surface, it amounts not much but I assure you that there is much here for us all to take to heart.
To begin with, there is this woman who is described as a Samaritan. The fact that she is a woman and a Samaritan conveys a barrier of some sort. Furthermore, her circumstances in life lends further taboos to those who would assosciate with her.
Have you ever come across a person in real life like her, be it a man or a woman?
In this event recorded by John, Jesus did not seem to have any qualms against her. In fact, he is the one who initiates a conversation with her, much to her surprise.
Where is the meeting point in your life which presents you with the opportunity to have conversations with people that you feel most uncomfortable (putting it mildly)?
Join us this Sunday for our 10.00 am worship service at the Bangkok Christian College. We will try to get the College to open the small gate for people to enter on Sathorn Road. People coming in cars will access through the gate at Soi Pramuan.
*Note: From March 5th, our worship services will relocate back to the Bangkok Christian Centre.
Blessings,
Chee
