Pastor Chee introduces this week’s theme:
Have you been tempted lately? How did it go? Was it anything like that of Jesus being tempted in the wilderness?
Most believers generally hold on to the premise that the devil tempted Jesus three times while in the wilderness. There were –
Turning stones into bread
Leaping from the tower of the temple
Worshipping the devil and ruling the world
The temptations faced by most of us are generally not in these categories. However, I do wonder if we have missed the essential point of these narratives given by Matthew.
What lies behind these three recorded temptations? Which of these temptations was the worst of them all?
How about you? What is the worst temptation you ever faced in life or most recently? Is it anything like that of Jesus’ temptations?
I want to suggest to you that rather than three temptations, Jesus was faced with only ONE temptation. And this one temptation of Jesus is common to all the followers of Christ. Remember, that all temptations are crafty in nature. Would you like to know more? How are your temptations similar to the temptation faced by Jesus?
Come and hear the truth behind the temptations that you face in life and find the freedom to confront them head-on.
*Note: From March 5th, our worship services will relocate back to the Bangkok Christian Centre.

Chee
