Would I consider myself to be a follower of Jesus? It seems that according to the Gospel passage many were following after Jesus even in his days on earth. People can choose Jesus for all sorts of reasons – curiosity, being part of the crowd, out of sincerity, being part of those who will wrestle back the nation from Rome, etc.
So what is your reason or my reason?
Better yet, does Jesus consider us his disciples? It seems from the passage that Jesus is eager to have disciples and not merely followers. Will you be his disciple?
Mind you, there is a cost to being a disciple of Jesus. Quite clearly, Jesus is telling the followers to count the cost – their families, their lives, and their possessions.
Wow! This is a tall order. I wonder if we have ever considered discipleship in these terms. I have gone through a number of discipleship classes years back but never have I heard any teaching or preaching on this in such a manner. Have you?

Being the first Sunday in a new month, we will be celebrating Holy Communion.
SPECIAL NOTES about Zoom worship:
This Sunday is the first week when Zoom relay is not available for all. We believe it is high time we joined together in person again and start to rebuild our community. Please make every effort to join us in person. If you enjoy singing, please join our choir and arrive about 45 minutes each week before the service for practice. All are welcome. Sunday School is now meeting for young children during part of the worship time.
Beginning this week (4th September), Sunday Morning Worship will be for in person attendance only at Student Christian Center (SCC)
Exceptions: For a limited period, Zoom will continue to be made available only to those who are
a) unwell or with disabilities preventing their travel to SCC
b) living or travelling abroad.
These people, a) and b), who wish to worship via Zoom are asked to contact Pastor Chee via email before the service.
They will receive an email reply with a special meeting code and password.

The ICB Council has been working with Life Raft International for many years in seeking to relocate people to various countries for resettlement. Please remember the COVID Code:
All are advised to follow social distancing to keep others safe. A temperature check is required. We have members who have been infected lately and we do not wish others to be infected. If you are not feeling well, please stay at home. For safety precautions, the ICB Council has advised against any form of fellowship events for the time being. Bottled water will be available.
If you plan to come in your own car:
It is best to enter Phayathai Road from the Patumwan intersection (at Discovery Center/MBK) and drive across Hua Chang (elephant head) Bridge, taking the left-most lane. Then, immediately over the bridge, turn left into the SCC/CCT compound just before Evergreen Place and Asia Hotel.
There are limited parking spaces (free) just inside the compound but if full, you can park in the CCT Tower Building at the back of this same compound (there maybe a small charge p/hr)

Fellowship is essential for the wellbeing of any true community – but it’s not so easy when we cannot all meet personally face-to-face, and have no social events.

5% of ICB’s yearly total income goes directly to the outreach partners. Members and friends are also encouraged to give directly through the Church account.
